THE LAURELS CLINIC
About Us
Since 2000
Our friendly and experienced team are passionate about helping patients stay mobile, independent and pain-free.
The Laurels Clinic was established in 2000 by Elaine Broadbent clinical director and lead podiatrist.
Her friendly and experienced team are passionate about helping patients stay mobile, independent and pain-free. Your journey to have feet you can be comfortable with starts with a half-hour consultation and treatment session, where a full and detailed medical history is taken. Upon examination, a diagnosis and treatment plan will be created and discussed with you. In this time any treatment that requires urgent attention will be carried out, time permitting, or another appointment made for continued care.
Remember we are all walking the same life path: lets at least have comfortable feet to do so

What is the difference between chiropody and podiatry?
There is no real difference between the two terms
Chiropody is the most traditionally used term to describe treatment on feet by a health care professional, and is a widely used term in the UK.
Podiatry is more associated with international terminology for chiropody and has widely replaced the title of a chiropodist.
Along with the change of title comes a greater scope of practice than predecessors, and podiatrists now have to prescribe rights and are able to perform minor surgery of the skin and nails using local anaesthesia. They have a wider and greater understanding overall of the human body and conditions that affect the feet and lower limbs. Many podiatrists have special interests in biomechanics, wound care, dermatology and other conditions. They are very knowledgeable in their care of conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes, and other autoimmune diseases and syndromes.
